NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant Vents Rage, Resignation and Good Humor After Season-Ending Injury

Kobe Bryant Instagram TwitterInstagram
Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has had better nights in the NBA.
Like all of them before Friday, when he suffered a season-ending injury during his team's game against the Golden State Warriors.
Even though he couldn't walk after the game, the 34-year-old superstar wasn't taking things lying down, venting his insomniac rage on Facebook:
VIDEO: Kobe cements his legacy, literally, outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood
"This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times!" he posted to Facebook."The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen?!? Makes no damn sense.
"Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that?? I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not."

"It's 3:30am," Bryant continued, "My foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever."
By Saturday, Bryant was coping better, flashing the peace sign while getting an MRI before surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon, which according to reports will have him out of action 6 to 9 months. Bryant even managed some self-deprecating humor, posting a picon Facebook, and writing, "Surgery prep time. Lookin like Mrs Doubtfire with a jerri curl cap lol Anesthesia next #highasakite #mambaout."
Famous fans like Lil WayneSpike LeeChris Rock and Bryant's former coach Phil Jackson went online to wish him a speedy and full recovery.
And we definitely second that emotion. Get better soon, Kobe!

Kate and Her Devoted Prince Are Bonding Over Baby

Kate Middleton and Prince William Bonding over Babies

From opposite ends of the Ping-Pong table, the famously competitive parents of Britain's future monarch grinned at each other, and then let fly.

"Ahem, I think that was 6-2," William said, declaring victory over Kate during their visit to a Glasgow sports center April 4. But, after his official duties were done, he turned to Lord Lieutenant Sadie Docherty, the couple's host for the day, and chivalrously fessed up: "The only reason I won today was because Catherine was pregnant," the prince told Docherty, who recounted the conversation to PEOPLE.

"Otherwise she would have taken off her coat and beat me." That same day, while chatting with homeless youth at a Quarriers shelter, Will praised Kate's cooking, pointing to his allegedly expanding waistline.

"He isn't very good in the kitchen," Kate teased. But as the two wordlessly brushed against each other at every stop on their two-day Scottish tour, the affection and tenderness between them spoke volumes. "The eye [contact], their smiles to each other, were very genuine, very caring," Paul Moore, Quarriers CEO, told PEOPLE. "You know when you're in a restaurant and see two people obviously in love? That's what they're like."

A first pregnancy can put any marriage to the test—cue the nausea, stressful moments and unforgiving deadline (ready or not...). But well into their second trimester, the royal couple are cruising to parenthood more demonstrably – and demonstratively – in love than ever.

"They're much more touchy-feely than they were," observes royal photographer Mark Stewart of Will's now-automatic protective hand to Kate's back on official outings. Adds royals author Judy Wade, who has watched the couple for a decade: "They've always been close, but it is much more pronounced since she has become pregnant. There appears to be a new, deeper bond between them."

The real reason Miranda Kerr is no longer a Victoria's Secret Angel

Miranda Kerr Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

MIRANDA Kerr was reportedly not fired as a Victoria's Secret Angel for "being difficult", but has chosen to step down because she couldn't devote enough time to the brand.
The New York Post reports that the lingerie brand was asking Kerr to devote three months a year to promoting their brand - time she doesn't have.
The 29-year-old Aussie already has a deal with Qantas and has just replaced Kate Moss as the face of Spanish fashion line Mango.
“While she loves Victoria’s Secret, the time commitment they needed from her as an Angel became too much for her to fulfill," a source told The Post's Page Six.
"Exactly the same thing happened with Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum — their careers became huge, and there were other opportunities which made being an Angel full-time impossible.
“Anyone who says otherwise about Miranda, it’s just sour grapes. She is still going to walk in the show this year, and is still committed to the brand, but their relationship is evolving.”
The Post also revealed their media insiders had speculated that the story of Kerr "being difficult" had been planted by those "with an axe to Grind".
Victoria’s Secret’s chief marketing officer Ed Razek was quick to defend her in a statement.
“Miranda Kerr is one of the best models in the history of the business — and easily one of the most popular. She is also a consummate professional. Any rumors to the contrary are simply untrue. We have no plans to stop working with her.”
Razek confirmed that Kerr will still walk the runway in the Victoria's Secret 2013 show.

No settlement reached yet in Kardashian divorce case

REALITY show star Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are getting another chance to settle their divorce case, and this time a judge wants the professional basketball player to attend.
Humphries did not appear for settlement talks on Friday local time, and a Superior Court judge set another hearing for April 19 in Los Angeles.
The judge also set a hearing for whether Humphries should be fined for not appearing at the mandatory settlement hearing.
Humphries' lawyers declined to comment on settlement discussions but said a May 6 trial date remains.
Lawyers did not reach a settlement after negotiations that were attended by Kim Kardashian. She was flanked by deputies as she left the courthouse shortly around noon.
The reality star wants a divorce to end her 72-day marriage to Humphries, but the NBA player wants it annulled. He claims the marriage was based on fraud, which he would have to prove at trial.

Humphries, a power forward for the Brooklyn Nets, has not yet laid out his specifics to support his fraud claim, but his former lawyer has said Humphries wants an annulment because of his belief that Kardashian only married him because of her reality show.
Kardashian and her lawyer have denied the accusation.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star arrived under heavy security and was brought into the courtroom through a back entrance. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and she kept her hands crossed on her lap while she listened to Judge Hank Goldberg explain to reporters that the hearing would be closed.
"I always wanted to be a juror," she joked to deputies before taking her seat.
Kardashian is expecting a child with boyfriend Kanye West later this year. She appeared in court wearing white pants and a long ornate grey jacket, but was not accompanied by West or any members of her famous family.
Her mother, Kris Jenner, is expected to testify on her daughter's behalf at the trial. Humphries has not yet filed his witness list for the trial, which is expected to last a week.

Daybreak presenter Gethin Jones is dating again... with a beautiful West End actress who looks remarkably like his former fiancee Katherine Jenkins.
Friends said the Welsh heart-throb, 35, has been seeing Charlotte Gooch since a chance encounter behind the scenes at her West End musical Top Hat.
Gethin’s mum had accidentally walked into leading actress Charlotte’s dressing room when he took his parents to a night at London’s Aldwych Theatre in January.
A showbiz source said last night: “It was a bit of a strange first encounter, but despite that they hit it off straight away and stayed in contact. He asked her out on a date and they have been out several times since.
“They were trying to keep it a bit low key, but he has started telling people about her and seems really happy. It’s only early days but all the signs are really positive.”
Gethin’s party had been invited backstage by former Holby City actor Tom Chambers, who also stars in the hit musical.

Charlotte, from Epsom, Surrey, is Gethin’s first girlfriend since he split from Katherine in 2011 after a 10-month engagement. The glamorous soprano, 32, described herself as “beyond heartbroken”. The source added: “Katherine will want Gethin to be happy, but seeing him with another woman is always going to be slightly upsetting for her.”
Charlotte, 27, who has been dancing since she was three, has appeared in productions of Dirty Dancing and Fly With The Stars. After they met Gethin tweeted: “@Charlotte_Gooch sorry for the changing room intrusion... by my mum! Thanks for a fab show – class ...x.”
She replied: “@GethinJones hehe not at all, she was lovely. Glad you liked it, lovely to meet you x.”
Ex-Blue Peter host Gethin joined ITV’s Daybreak last year.

Six-year-old millionaire: How beauty pageants and Toddlers and Tiaras reality show helped girl make a fortune

Fake tan: Isabella at a beauty pageant
Like most little girls, Isabella Barrett loves dressing up, collecting teddy bears and singing along to Justin Bieber.
But that’s about all she has in common with a typical kid. Because at the tender age of six, mini-mogul Isabella is a MILLIONAIRE who has already developed a taste for the finer things in life.
Thanks to wins in beauty pageants which led to stardom on hit US TV reality show Toddlers and Tiaras, she now has own range of jewellery and has already raked in more than most of us could dream of earning in a lifetime.
Instead of clamouring for trips to McDonald's or the sweet shop, Isabella likes to order filet mignon steak or lobster from room service in five-star hotels and her wardrobes are stuffed full of custom-made $10,000 dresses and designer shoes.
“What’s not to like about being a millionaire?” she says. “I’m a superstar, I have my own jewellery line and I just love being the boss. I never lose at anything and almost every pageant I enter, I win. But what I love more than anything is shoes. I have over 60 pairs.”

Two years ago, when Isabella was just four, mum Susanna, 39, discovered her youngest daughter’s potential after entering her in her first beauty pageant. Susanna says: “Before we knew it we were winning every competition and had been picked to appear on Toddlers and Tiaras. Bella fell in love with all the glitz and glamour and was a natural performer.
“Now she owns her own business and already has enough money in the bank to secure her future.”
And while Susanna is quick to hit back at those who criticise her for “sexualising” her daughter and making so much money from her, she does admit to becoming addicted to her daughter’s new-found fame.
“At a certain point at the start when Bella was winning all the time, I’ll admit I did get caught up in it all and had to stop and say to myself, ‘Am I doing this for myself or for Bella?’” says Susanna.
“The whole pageant world is so addictive, especially when your daughter wins so much. But then I looked at Bella and realised she was loving it every bit as much as I was.”
According to US law, Susanna and her husband Antonio must save a percentage of Isabella’s income, money she will not be allowed to touch until she is at least 18. But the mum admits it’s hard not to spoil her little girl and confesses she’s already developing some rather extravagant tastes.

“Antonio and I do not want her to grow up spoilt, so really try to keep her feet on the ground,” says Susanna. “You see what happens to these child stars like Britney Spears and I certainly do not want that happening to my daughter. But she does like nice things, so we do treat her.
“That mainly means new shoes and lots of them. She has designer ones and the sparklier the better for Bella. And she has a ton of Burberry headbands.
Her bedroom is every girl’s dream and has its own throne-style chair and feather boas and Swarovski crystals adorn everything. In her pageant room she even has her own mannequins as the dresses are so expensive we can’t afford to have them crushed in a wardrobe.”
But Isabella’s biggest extravagance is room service at luxury hotels. “We travel so much to enter pageants, she really has developed a taste for five-star hotels and loves being waited on,” says Susanna.
“She can go a little crazy though and once ordered $2,200 [£1,450] worth of food. It’s never cheeseburgers and fries, always the most expensive like filet mignon and lobster. I know it seems pompous, but to us it’s just funny and part of her personality.”

Isabella Barrett signing autographs

At the family’s Rhode Island home, Isabella has her own office and pageant room for all her competition paraphernalia. Every inch of space is crammed with her trophies.
Susanna says: “I’ll admit when it comes to Bella’s wardrobe, there is no expense spared. That means a voice coach, make-up artist, regular spray tans, hair extensions, acrylic nails and even made-to-measure fake teeth which cost us $500.
“Each performance needs to be like a Broadway show and every single outfit is custom-made, costing up to $10,000. We must have spent around $50,000 entering pageants in the last two years alone, but look where she is now. It’s been more than worth it.”
While Isabella has won huge prizes on the pageant circuit, her financial success comes mainly from the jewellery line she launched in 2012, Glitzy Girl.
It includes charm bracelets and has now expanded to make-up and clothes. The company made $1million in its first year and now employs 42 people – all from an idea Susanna says was her daughter’s.
“I had a charm bracelet made for Bella one day to celebrate her wins and all the mothers loved it,” says Susanna. “Then Bella suggested we could make them for everyone... and Glitzy Girl was born.”
Susanna, who also has daughter Victoria, 19, says: “I run the company on a day-to-day basis while Isabella is at school. But when she’s off, she is absolutely hands-on and is always at the factory.
“She picks the designs for the bracelets, helps with the shipping and she tests every colour in our lip gloss and nail polish line herself. She is definitely the brainchild behind the company. It seems everything she touches turns to gold.”
Isabella is also the face of a line of toys in Toys R Us in the US and has just recorded a pop single.
She goes to school full-time and is so talented she can even speak Italian, German and Spanish. Any spare time is spent on a dizzying round of gymnastics, dance classes and singing lessons.
Her mum says: “The next goal is to be a Disney star and knowing Isabella she will get what she wants. She would love to be the next Selena Gomez.”
Susanna insists: “I am not a pushy parent, I just help Isabella achieve her dreams. If she told me tomorrow she didn’t want to do it any of it any more, then that would be fine.”
And Isabella herself insists: “I love all of it and never want to stop. I just love being a star.”

Video for Psy's new single Gentleman is launched

Psy's new video for single Gentleman
Youtube

GANGNAM Style star PSY has launched the video for his new track Gentleman - but it's clear from the clip that a Gentleman is the last thing he is.

The highly-anticipated follow-up to last year's super-hit features the South Korean pop star horsing around with pals.
But while he boasts of being an honest gent in the lyrics, the accompanying video sees him offer a lady his chair - only to whip it out from under her.
As she stands up, a friend seems to offer a hand, only to toss her to the ground once again.
Other scenes see PSY apparently preparing for a game of footie with a group of kids. But instead of passing the ball around, he simply boots it away from the children, ruining their game.
While cheeky PSY also seems to offer a hand to a pair of sunbathing lasses, it's soon revealed that he simply wanted to unlock one of their bikinis before running away laughing.
The song's new dance is much more restrained than Gangnam Style's signature 'horseriding' jig.
Instead, the dancers bend their knees, cross their arms, and thoughtfully stroke their chins as they rock from side to side.
But what do you think? Check out the new video, and let us know whether you think it confirms PSY's status as a hitmaker - or whether he's an embarrassing one-hit wonder.

Courtroom Thriller to star Jacko

Michael Jackson
Lawsuit ... Michael Jackson

MICHAEL Jackson will give evidence from beyond the grave in his family’s £26billion court case against concert firm AEG.

Lawyers for the company will show film of Jacko apparently drunk or under the influence of drugs in a bid to prove he had long-standing addiction problems.
But the Jackson family, who are claiming AEG is responsible for the Thriller star’s “wrongful death”, will play their own home videos. They will show Jacko playing with his kids and portraying him as a normal and happy family man.
The videos and films are listed in hundreds of exhibits both sides want put before the sensational trial, which could last up to four months.
A source close to the case said: “This is no-holds-barred stuff and will be the biggest insight yet into Jackson’s life. Effectively he is giving evidence from beyond the grave for both sides. It’s an extraordinary turn of events.”
The Jacksons claim that AEG, who were organising a series of 50 concerts by the star at London’s O2 Arena, were negligent in hiring Conrad Murray — the doctor who was with Jackson, 50, when he died of a drug overdose in 2009.
They say Murray, currently serving four years for manslaughter for his involvement in Jacko’s death, already had £286,000 of lost court cases against him.
Both sides want to call nearly 100 witnesses in the Los Angeles trial, including the star’s former staff and bodyguards.
Officials have begun to select a jury, but the process could could take another two or three weeks

Who says blondes have more fun? Filming The Good Lie in Atlanta on Thursday April 11, a nearly unrecognizable Reese Witherspoon was made over into something of a sexy-casual Southern girl, complete with turquoise top, denim skirt, cowboy boots -- and long, flowing brown hair. The 37-year-old Oscar winner first debuted the dark 'do earlier this month in Nashville, arriving there with son Tennessee, 6 months, and hubby Jim Toth.

In The Good Lie, Witherspoon plays a woman who befriends refugees during the Sudanese civil war. Fans have seen the blonde, blue-eyed actress go brunette before to award-winning effect: To play June Carter Cash in the Johnny Cash 2004 biopic Walk the Line, Witherspoon similarly dyed her signature locks.

"It's great to be brunette," Witherspoon said at the time. "Nobody knows who I am. Everybody walks right past me. It's a nice reprieve from my normal self." The mother of three won an Academy Award for Best Actress in the role as well.
